The Bucks County Civil War Museum is happy to announce we will be hosting Candlelight Tours of Doylestown Cemetery on Friday, October 17th & 24th, starting at 7:00 PM. Meet at the Caretaker's House, corner of Spruce and Court St. in Doylestown. No RSVP required. $10 per person, children 16 and under are free. Come meet Doylestown's forgotten heroes, soldiers and scoundrels and enjoy a candlelight tour of Doylestown Cemetery.
Speaker at the Museum- Widow's Weeds and Weeping Veils
Join the Bucks County Civil War Roundtable for a very Special Speaker Meeting on Tuesday, October 7th at 7pm. In honor of the Halloween Season we have decided to hold the meeting at the Civil War Museum located at 32 North Broad Street in Doylestown PA, 18901. The museum will be adorned with traditional mourning garb and we will have refreshments as well. The speaker will be Bernadette Loeffel-Atkinson and her topic will be “Widow’s Weeds and Weeping Veils.” There will be free parking available in the parking lot across the street from the Museum. You do not have to be a member to attend, just a history lover. We look forward to seeing you there.
Mr. Kyle Purchase speaks about the G.A.R. in Newtown on Sept. 15th
Please join the Newtown Historic Association at their September general meeting on Monday, September 15 at 7:30pm at 105 Court Street in Newtown, where BCCWRT member Kyle Purchase will explain the history, impact and purpose of the Grand Army of the Republic (G.A.R.), and discuss the auxiliary organizations of the G.A.R. that are still active today as well as the work and activities that these organizations do.

Calling all history buffs! Join the Bucks County Civil War Roundtable at Doylestown Borough Hall on Tuesday, September 2nd at 7:00PM for our monthly Speaker Meeting. There will be vignettes featuring fascinating topics such as, “Sex and the Civil War“, "A.P. Hill" and the “The Great Snowball Battle of 1863” from historians Kitt Finch, John Benson and Gerry Mayers. This will surely be a memorable night. Ron Zanoni portrays Major General Philip Sheridan August 23rd
Join us at the Bucks County Civil War Museum and Library for our Saturday Summer Speaker Series on August 23rd at 11:00 am. Mr. Ron Zanoni will be portraying Major General Phil Sheridan in the first person. As many historians will tell you, General Sheridan was a controversial and complex man who proved to be a key component of the Union’s victory. We absolutely can’t wait for Mr. Zanoni to bring him to life! This will be a free and family friendly event. All history buffs are welcome.
