OUR Research Library and Reading Room…

…houses a large collection of books, CDs, periodicals, maps, and rare first-editions for research and study. All accessible and easily searchable on our collection search database, the library is a invaluable resource for Civil War studies. 

Available exclusively in the library are subject aides for the study of not only the American Civil War, but also ample resources for geneology, American Presidents, and local history.

Among the bound book collections, the Library features complete collections of some of the most important works written on the War including:

  • Bates complete History of Pennsylvania Volunteers

  • Scott's War of the Rebellion Series

  • Heitman's Historical Registry of the War of the Rebellion

  • Dyer's Compendium of the War of the Rebellion

  • Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies of the Rebellion

  • Comprehensive Regimental Rosters for the Federal States

  • State Reports to the Adjutant General for regimental histories and statistics

In addition to the bound book collections, the Bucks County Civil War Research and Reading Library provides full access to America's premium military records forum, Fold3. Our collections of Civl War records and data are a wonderful educational resource for schools and can be utilized by classrooms either at the Library or online.
